About me
I have loved photography as long as I can remember.
Photography has held a fascination with me since I was a child. I can remember when I was ten years old making a pinhole camera from an old shoe box, wax paper from mom’s kitchen and duct tape. When it wasn’t bright enough for me, I took a lens from an old magnifying glass, cut up the box and taped it all back together.
In college I took every photography class they had to offer. I loved learning on an old manual camera (a commercially available digital camera was not even thought possible for years) and developing the film and prints from the chemicals I mixed myself. There were more failures than successes in those days, but that didn’t matter to me. I was creating something from nothing with my own hands and my own mind.
Now it’s my passion to create images to be cherished a lifetime. To enjoy the looks on my clients faces as they see their memories captured, to be able to revisit that moment in time over and over again.
Recently I had an acquaintance of a client come up to me to ask about some family portraits. She said, “Hey, are you (client)’s photo guy?” I smiled and said yes, thinking to myself of a line from a popular sitcom, “Yeah, she has a guy for that.” Yes, photo guy, that is what I am. Let me be your “Photo Guy”.
